GUIDELINES TO THE PARENTS

All parents are requested to impart health education to the children so that they:

1. Maintain personal hygiene, have short trimmed nails, well groomed and tidy hair.

2. Exercise regularly.

3. Sleep for at least eight hours daily.

4. Have a balanced diet, nutritionally rich in protein and milk and avoid junk food.

5. Adequate tiffin must be provided to each child.

6. Drink water which is either boiled or filtered. All students are advised to bright their own water bottles from home. However, school has provision for safe drinking water (Reserve Osmosis Plant). Only transparent water bottle to be brought to school.

7. Avoid consumption of ice-creams, other milk products and eatables from road side vendors.

8. Deworm all children at least once a year. Advice to be taken from the family physician.

9. Get dental and ophthalmic check ups done once a year by a Dental surgeon and Ophthalmologist.

10. Immunise all children as per the schedule given below.
a. BCG
b. DPT
c. Oral Polio Vaccine
d. Measles
e. MMR
f. Hepatitis B
g. Tetanus – Booster dose to be given in the 10th year and also to be given if injured
h. DT at 5 years of age.
i. Chicken Pox
j. Typhoid
k. HIB Vaccine (Meningitis)

11. In case of any infectious disease in your home, please report the matter to the Principal immediately and do not send your ward to school till the quarantine period is over.

12. Students suffering from diseases such as Chicken Pox, Cholera, Measels, Mumps, Whooping-Cough and Jaundice must observe the prescribed period of quarantine mentioned under the heading “Absence” in the Almanac.

13. Students suffering from infections diseases like Conjunctivitis, Dermatitis, Scabies etc. should not be sent to School, unless declared medically fit and mus submit a fitness certificate to the class teacher on their return.

14. Students suffering from chronic diseases like Asthama, Epilepsy and Rheumatic Heart Disease etc. are advised to be under the continuous Medical supervision of a Doctor.Any medicines consumed regularly or given at the time of emergencies should be brought to the notice of the School authorities. Class Teachers and School authorities should be informed in advance the medications.Eg-Inhalers in case of children having Bronchial Asthama.Parents may come to school to administer the medication.

15. Doctor’s certificate, giving clearance for rejoining school is compulsory, for points 11 & 12. This must be countersigend by the school authorities.

16. Addiction is also a disease; parents need to be alert. GET HELP immediately to help the child. The School is always with you to ensure the safety and well being of our children.

17. School should be informed in case of a child is suffering from any chronic ailment – physical or psychological.
